Don’t despair. There are always options for the clever Valentine.

In fact, some budget-savvy Napa Valley businesses are offering discounts from 35% to 50% during the month of February to help couples rev up romance. They include Go Fish, Ehlers Estate and Palmaz Winery, Silverado Resort, The Grill at Silverado and Napa Valley Bike Tours.

Who knew romance could be charitable? But in honor of February’s American Heart Month, these businesses will be making donations to international cardiovascular research.

Today’s highlight is Go Fish in St. Helena. The restaurant named by Bon Appetit in 2008 as one of America’s 10 top seafood houses is offering a month-long prix-fixe, three-course menu including edamame finished with Moldon Salt, Miso, and Marinated Black Cod. Go Fish has a sushi and raw bar, as well as an extensive collection of sake.
