To support  earthquake relief in Haiti, St. Francis of Santa Rosa and Sequoia Grove of Napa are donating their tasting fees they earn today (Jan. 17th)  and Monday (Jan. 18th) to the American Red Cross.

“We’re thousands of miles away in the safety and serenity of Sonoma while others are suffering,” said CEO Christopher Silva. “We know there is more we can do …” Michael Trujillo of Sequoia added, “It’s our responsibility as an industry to support this effort. How can you not when you see the magnitude of human suffering?”

There’s also going to be a wine tasting to raise relief money for Haiti this Monday (Jan. 18) in San Francisco. (The tasting is from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Presidio Café, 300 Finley Rd. at the Arguello Gate.) Organizers are wine importers who are encouraging donations of $50, with a preferred donation of $100. They say 100 percent of the donation will target an organization of your choice – Doctors Without Borders, Sirona Cares Foundation, Partners in Health and the American Red Cross.

Importers include Vinos Unico, International Vineyards, Blue Danube Wine Country, Siena Imports, among many others.
