It’s not often that a house of vino doubles as a house of God and that’s why  most people are surprised when they find out there’s a Latin Mass held in the chapel at Castello di Amorosa every Sunday. Mass, which begins at 8:30 a.m., is for early bird church-goers. Women are asked to wear veils and men, a tie.

The castle also offers people the opportunity to play winemaker and create their own Super Tuscan, developing their own secret  formula from the winery’s sangiovese, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. The $68 seminar can set up by appointment.

The castle, with a $30 million price tag, is unique in Wine Country, based on its investment alone. And then there’s the aspect of time to consider. It took 14 grueling years to build. Good thing patience is a virtue.  (www.castellodiamorosa.com).
