Creative artists have definitely kept their appointment with their muse, and they’re set to deliver. With more than 80 events during Napa Valley’s Arts in April, clearly the artists have been prolific.

DSC08722Expect Highway 29 in Napa Valley to be populated by wine enthusiasts who double as art lovers. There will be plenty for them to see and do, with pop up exhibits, art installations, live performances, tours and tastings.

The Napa Valley Arts Council has highlighted 25 “spotlight events” that will inspire, and it’s not surprising that St. Supery is one of them. The Rutherford winery’s exhibit — “Take a SEAT@ St. Supery” — showcases more than 30 seats created by 30 artists, a cross pollination of media. Each chair explores functional balance and aesthetics – with some unexpected materials in the mix. There will also be an exhibit to tell the backstory of each chair with paintings, drawings and photographs.

DSC07928_Here’s the interesting twist: artists will be on the premises every Sunday during the month to carry out interactive workshops, with the finale, a tasting of course. The workshop/tasting is $20 per person. For more information about “Take a SEAT” call 707.963.4507 or visit www.stsupery.com/artsinapril.

For details about other spotlight events, check out www.visitnapavalley.com. St. Supery is at 8440 Hwy 29.
