La Crema, 2009 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, 13.9 percent alcohol, $20. A creamy chardonnay with aromas and flavors of pear, melon, vanilla, toast and spice. Has a lush texture. Nice length.

Dutton Goldfield, 2008 Dutton Ranch, Russian River Valley, 13.5 percent, $35. A complex chardonnay with notes of crème brulee, pear, baked apple and a hint of caramel. Lingering finish.
